School pictures and proofs were sent home with students today. If you would like to have a picture re-taken, the purchased picture package or proof must be turned in to Mrs. Farley no later than Tuesday, October 15. Make-up picture day is Wednesday, October 16.
Start saving your loose coins for our 4th Annual Coin Wars benefiting Central Arkansas's military families through Operation Homefront. The winning grade will get an ice cream party on Thursday, October 17.

Today, AJHS students enjoyed a concert by the Mid-America Airforce Band, Starlifter. Starlifter is a high-energy rock band of active-duty Airmen that travel the country performing for various organizations and schools. They will perform again on Saturday at Get Down Downtown at 4 pm.

AJHS students visited Plum Bayou Mounds Archeological State Park to learn about the life of Native Americans who lived in the Central Arkansas area. Students learned about the history and purpose of the mounds, played Native American games, and were able to make pottery. It was such a great day for our students.

Mrs. Jo Ellis from Make.Do spoke to Mrs. Martin's EAST students this week. She talked about her journey from a dream to a reality and the four lessons she has learned along the journey, which included that everyone has the power to change the world for somebody, the path forward is never a straight line, your mistakes will be your best teacher, and you can't do it all by yourself.
