Do you have an incoming kindergartener? Kindergarten is starting color week on the very first week of school! This is going to be a great way to help us identify our brand new kindergarten students who may need a little extra help finding their way around. Monday, August 22nd (the first day of school) is RED day!
Health History Form-If your child is enrolled in Searcy School District for the 2022-2023 school year, please complete a health history form and return to the nurse at your child's campus. The Arkansas Diamond Primary Book Award was established by the Arkansas Elementary School Council in 1998 to encourage reading for students in grades K-3. The name of the award reflects that Arkansas is the only diamond producing state. This year our students read many books from the Arkansas Diamond reading list and voted on their favorite.
The Arkansas Division of Elementary and Secondary Education, the Arkansas State Library and the Arkansas Literacy Association are pleased to announce the winners of the 2021-2022 Arkansas Diamond Primary Book Award.
Diamond winner:
Very Impatient Caterpillar by Ross Burach with 13,260 votes
Honor book: The Great Indoors written by Julie Falatko and illustrated by Ruth Chan with 5278 votes
3rd place: A Computer Called Katherine by Suzanne Slade and illustrated by Veronica Miller Jamison with 2416 votes.
