March is almost over, but this calendar for early literacy can inspire some great opportunities for family time well spent around reading!
1st grade students in Mrs. Johnson's class participated in their Wit & Wisdom Module 4 Book Tasting today! Every student was given a menu and given just a few minutes to look through and get a “taste” of what the book was about. They were able to record all of the choices they were looking forward to reading the most, while listening to music and discussing details with partners. It's always so fun seeing the excitement of children opening new books!
It's time for a new attendance incentive! We are working hard for great attendance! Students who are present for 35 of the next 37 school days ( March 29-May 19) will receive recognition. In addition to that, students who have ZERO tardies or absences from March 29- May 19 will receive a reward!
Our resident artist, Mrs.Grady, does an amazing job exposing students to various forms of art from around the world! Deener was represented very well at the Searcy Community Art Show recently! Several of our talented students were featured. Check our their fantastic work!
Save the Date! The Book Fair is COMING SOON! Our Book Fair will open Monday April 3rd- April 7th. Students will shop during their library activity time, but will also have opportunities to come for "free flow" on Friday April 7th. We are also so excited to invite families to shop during out April 6th Family Movie Night.
Our caped heroes of the week get to take part in the weekly praise parade! It gives the entire school a chance to cheer on their peers’ accomplishments! Head over to Facebook to see a short clip of the fun!
