SWMS Li'l Goonies Competition
The SWMS Li'l Goonies team would like to invite everyone in the district to attend our FIRST Lego League Challenge competition on December 14. It will be held at Harding Academy Harris Gym from 9:00-5:00, and is free to the public.
Our theme this year involves learning about saving our oceans. We have built a robot to navigate through several deep sea missions. Our Innovation Project is on how to reduce the invasion of lionfish in the Atlantic and Gulf Coast regions. With the guidance of Dr. Steve Gittings at NOAA, we designed a prototype. We also adopted a lionfish at "The Fish Bowl" to study.
We have eight 6th graders on the team: William Alexander, Logan Carraway, Case Dacus
Wyatt Grady, Haven Hickey, Kite Hicks, Peyton Talley, and James White.
Coaches are Chelsie Grate, Gabe Mahon and Shelley Yeakley

So "bee"ming proud of these 5th grade students that will represent us at Harding University for the county spelling bee( 1st place Ethan Hays, 2nd place Isaac Renuard, Alternate River Hickey) as well as being proud of all the classroom bee winners that were participants in today's bee!
