Three fourth grade classes recently connected their learning about Searcy's history to a real world experience on a "History of Searcy Hop-On Hop-Off Tour." Historical sites included Rialto Theater, the White County Courthouse, Stott's Drug Store, Citizens Park, Art Alley, the old Mayfair Hotel, Spring Park, the old Searcy Bank, Robbins-Sanford, Legion Hut, Smyrna Church, Pioneer Village, the Battle of Whitney's Lane site, and the Searcy Landing site. Thank you to Amy Burton, Shelly Churchwell, Mat Faulkner, Peyton Harvey, and Scott Akridge for taking time to share information with our students and to grow their appreciation for Searcy's history and heritage!

The Lego Club Cup robotic competition at Harding Academy, on Saturday November 5th, was a success! Two SWMS teams competed with ten from the Academy. Team Somebody, with Kash Coleman and Jess Douglas, earned a spot with the 4th Alliance and Team Gear Head, with Boston Johnson and Noah Miller, earned a 2nd place Alliance position after morning challenge rounds. Team Gear Head achieved the highest score for a single match in the tournament, and finished 2nd place overall after a hard fought final battle! Gear Head also received the coveted Innovation Award for their offensive scoring combined with defensive abilities. Their Lego Trophy will be displayed in the cafeteria soon! We are very proud of these students!
