Westside will be having our Spring Book Fair March 6 - 17.\r\n
\r\nWeek 1 (March 6 - 10): Students will ONLY browse the fair and create wish lists during their library class this week.(See the library schedule at the end of this letter to see what day your child has library class.) Students will bring those lists home to you. Please know, you are under no obligation to purchase any of the books on your student’s wish list. We do this so those parents who can't shop online with their child will still have some choices when it comes to purchasing books their child has requested. There is a possibility that popular books will sell out and substitutions will need to be made. (Ms. Kim pays attention to those wish lists as they are made and tries to order extra of popular titles to restock.) There will be NO purchasing of books this week….JUST browsing and picking out books we would like. You may set up your child’s ewallet this week, but please do not send money to school yet.
\r\nWeek 2 (March 13 - 17): Students will be allowed to shop during their library class...using cash, check (made payable to Westside Elementary), or the money placed in their online ewallet account.. This week will be your child’s ONLY chance to shop the spring book fair, so please make sure to send the student with the correct amount of money or have their ewallet account set up before their library day.
\r\n(Don't forget to add extra to cover tax! A $5 bill will not buy a $4.99 book).
\r\nIf you choose to send a check or cash, please place it in a ziploc bag and include your student's name, their teacher's name, the amount you enclosed, and their wish list. (You may circle the titles on the wishlist you have approved so that Ms. Kim will have that information.) If a student's shopping time is missed due to being absent on library day, every effort will be made to give them time to shop. If we are unable to do that, students can shop online with their parents at https://www.scholastic.com/bf/westsidespring and have their purchases shipped to their home. The book fair will close at noon Friday (17th) to be packed up before break!!
\r\nWe highly encourage parents to use the ewallet option. Ewallet is a great way to use a debit or credit card to add funds into an account for the student to use to shop without having to send cash or a check to school with the student. You can add these funds by going to the book fair link page (https://www.scholastic.com/bf/westsidespring) and clicking “get started” under the ewallet section. More than one ewallet can be set up for a student so this is a great way for grandparents to buy books for their grandchild even if they live out of town!!\r\n
\r\nAll purchases benefit our school and help us purchase books for our school library and classrooms!
