Please remember the AJHS Operation Homefront Toy Drive this weekend when you are out shopping. We are behind on our goal of bringing in $10,000 worth of toys and only have until Wednesday, December 6. The class that brings in the largest dollar amount of toys will receive a Christmas party. We are in need of new, unopened toys for ages birth - 18.

The Annual AJHS Operation Homefront Toy Drive is underway! We are in need of new, unopened toys that will be donated to Arkansas military families this Christmas. Last year we brought in $10,000 worth of toys! Let's try to match that goal this year! Toys need to be brought to school by noon on Wednesday, December 6.
Any student interested in participating in the AJHS school spelling bee, needs to see their English teacher to pick up the study list. The spelling bee will be held on Tuesday, December 19th, at 4:00 pm in the library. Parents are welcome to attend.
The winner and runner-up from each grade level of this bee will represent Ahlf Junior High School at the White County Spelling Bee on Friday, January 19, 2024, at Harding University. The third-place finisher from each grade level will serve as an alternate and attend the county bee.
Congratulations to AJHS 8th grader Katie Howell who was the first place winner of the Constitution Day essay competition sponsored by the Imagine and Believe Foundation.

AJHS will kick off its annual Operation HomeFront Toy Drive on Monday, November 27. Students are asked to bring brand-new toys to be donated to Arkansas military families this holiday season. The toy drive will run from Monday, November 27 - Wednesday, December 6. Our goal is to bring in $10,000 worth of toys.

The Unified partners and athletes competed in the Area 6 Special Olympics Bowling Tournament on Wednesday, Nov, 8th. Of the teams that participated, AJHS had 4 teams that placed 1st, 2 teams that placed 2nd, 1 team that placed 3rd, and 1 team that placed 4th. We had extra partners that served as the "positivity patrol" and cheered for all the teams. Four teams will participate in the State Special Olympics Bowling Tournament that will be held in Little Rock on December 7th. This is the first year that AJHS has had a unified team. We are proud of all of our athletes and partners!

The AJHS National Jr. Honor Society held an assembly today to honor our community's veterans. Major General Jonathan Stubbs, 54th Adjutant General of the Arkansas National Guard spoke to the students, our 8th grade band and a special AJHS Mixed Choir performed.
