Wednesday, all EAST students attend the annual EAST Summit at the Performing Arts Center at Searcy High School. They heard from many community partners and learned why communication, teamwork, and problem-solving are important in jobs. Lunch was provided by First Community Bank.

This week at AJHS: Tuesday, October 17: Parent-Teacher Conferences 3:40-7:30 Parents will be able to pick up report cards, visit with teachers, and shop at the Scholastic Book Fair. Wednesday, October 18: Stomp Out Bullying Students wear boots to take a stand against bullying! Thursday, October 19: Make Up Pictures Any student who did not have their picture made in September or needs to retake their pictures will have them made on Thursday. In order to have a picture re-taken, the purchased package or proof sheet sent home last week will need to be brought back to Mrs. Farley by Tuesday, October 17. Friday, October 20: No School for Students/ CTM Day for Teachers Students will not have school on Friday in order for teachers to be able to plan and prepare for the next nine weeks.

School pictures should be coming home with students today! Retakes will be next Thursday, October 19. Any student wanting to have their pictures re-taken MUST return their picture packet or proofs to Mrs. Farley in the library by Tuesday, October 17. Any student who was absent on September 7 will have their picture taken on the 19th. This includes new students since that date as well.

Tomorrow is the last day of our 3rd Annual Coin Wars to Support Operation Homefront. It’s still anybody’s competition to win! We have currently raised almost $345! 7th grade, you are still in the lead, but not by much! 8th grade, you can easily overtake the lead tomorrow! Bring your change and dollar bills tomorrow! The winning grade will receive an ice cream party next Friday!

AJHS COIN WARS! This is the LAST week of the coin wars supporting our annual Operation Home Front Toy Drive. The 7th and 8th grades are competing against each other by putting pennies and dollars in their grade's bucket to gain points and silver in the other grade's bucket to deduct points. The grade with the most points by noon on Friday will be given an ice cream party on Friday, October 13.
