Lynnlee Morrison has been awarded the Youth Community Service Award by The Searcy Optimist Club. Teachers nominated students who exemplify the characteristics listed in The Optimist Creed. Congratulations, Lynnlee, on this great honor!!


Today we celebrated 140 students who read over 650 books in the March Madness Book Tournament. All students went home with free books and over 50 door prizes were handed out. A great time was had by all! Seventh graders, Katie Howell, and Josie Sandlin were recognized for reading all March Madness books. We are so proud of all these students for meeting the challenge!





Congratulations to Kimmie Ham and Hailie Williams for winning first place in the Junior Division Group Performance at the state level National History Day competition. Ham and Williams will advance to the national competition in College Park, MD in June! Way to go, girls! AJHS is so proud of you!


April is the month of the military child. Tomorrow, April 19, Searcy School District is celebrating some of the military's most unsung heroes-the military children. All students and staff are invited to help us celebrate our military families by wearing purple. We are grateful to the service of these men and women and their whole families!

Ahlf Jr. High had a good day at the Jr. High Quiz Bowl Finals Saturday, February 24. They had 5 wins and 1 loss and finished second on the day. Milas Javellana was named to the All-Tournament team. Congratulations, we are proud of you!!

Junior high quiz bowl hosted and competed in the 6a east regional quiz bowl tournament last Saturday. The team scored an average of 305 points per game and were undefeated on Saturday. James Singleton and Milas Javellana qualified for the all-tournament team by scoring an average of at least 50 points per game. James was also named the tournament MVP. Milas and James will be eligible to participate in the junior high quiz bowl all-star event in March. The team will compete at the junior high state tournament on February 25 where they will strive to bring home first place for the third consecutive year. The team is coached by Chance George.
