Kickin’ off fall with another fall season of Monarch Butterflies to cocoon and hatch. Mrs Evans’ 5th grade class will get to learn about Monarch Butterflies as a bonus lesson this week.

Several 5th grade students had the opportunity to attend a career day field trip to Harding University’s College of Pharmacy Department to learn about this amazing part of the medical field. Students even learned how Chapstick was compounded and made using scientific tools and equipment that we are learning about in school. They had so much fun learning!! A big shout out to Harding University for the invitation to attend. Many students have found interest in future career opportunities in pharmacy.

Happy National Comic Book Day from the SWMS Library! National Comic Book Day is a special day to celebrate the art, storytelling, and creativity found in comic books. Comic books have a unique way of capturing our imagination and bringing stories to life through vibrant illustrations and engaging narratives. They can be a fantastic tool for encouraging reading, sparking creativity, and fostering a love for storytelling. I hope everyone at SWMS enjoys celebrating this day and continues to explore the exciting world of comic books.

The SWMS Believe Kids Fundraiser has kicked off! Make sure to sell 5 items to get a ticket to the Mega Party on Friday, November 17th, 2023! This fundraiser will end on Monday, October 2nd, 2023.
The money raised helps to support fun activities at SWMS (Back to School Bash, Lion Ledger Rewards, Lion Leader Rewards), teacher appreciation events, and more! These events do not have a traditional source of funding so please help us keep the fun going! We are also raising money for a parent/student gazebo for any parents who want to eat lunch with their students on campus. Thank you!
