Searcy schools cardiac response teams are training this week with the assistance of Charles Wooley, of Arkansas Children's Hospital, Northstar EMS, Searcy Fire Dept., and Searcy PD. Each campus is in training to respond in an adequate amount of time to a cardiac arrest. All campuses will be recognized as a Heart Safe School through ACH and Project ADAM. Tammy Bishop is our Health Services Director. We are grateful for supportive community agencies who keep our students and staff safe!

Searcy HIPPY is now enrolling! Don't miss the opportunity for your preschool aged child to benefit from this fantastic program!

Westside is participating in the One School, One Book program this year!! With One School, One Book, a school selects a book and each person in the school receives a copy to read. ALL students, ALL teachers, and ALL staff read the same book together to promote reading at home with our families. This program is part of Read To Them, a non-profit organization promoting family literacy. This strategy reinforces reading instruction, increases parental involvement, bridges the home-school connection, and builds a true community of readers. Look for your child's free copy to come home the week of Sept. 11-15. Our school will begin reading and sharing videos of our staff beginning Sept. 18th!!

Westside Elementary received an equipment grant from the United States Tennis Association. Thank you to Ms. Kristin Webb, Schools & NWA Coordinator, for your assistance in applying for the grant.
