These are the Top 15 Fundraisers raising $150 or more, and will get to slime Mr. Denney. 21 students completed Finns Mission, learning to recognize symptoms having a stroke and actions to get them the help they need. Additionally, the students and their parents learn what to do if they suspect that someone is having a heart attack. The students and adults who have learned to recognize stroke and heart attack symptoms and have a valuable skill that I hope they don't need to use in the future. However, the American Heart Association has reported that every year that a third or fourth grade student has stepped up use his or her skills learned to save a life We had 145 registered online, and 66 students raising money. This is the highest amount of participation we have had in the past seven years. Thank you for supporting the American Heart Association and Westside Elementary.

This Valentine's day is also Congenital Heart Defect Awareness Week. 1 in 100 babies are born every year with a Congenital Heart Defect and your support makes their future not only possible, but positive. When your student raises $40 through their KHC page not only will they get to bring home 4 of our Heart Hero keychains, but they will also know they helped strengthen someone's future, and that’s the best way to show someone you care this Valentine's Weekend!

We hope your student has been having fun and learning lots of new things about helping their hearts and helping others! You're doing our community a HUGE favor by helping to bring the awareness to heart disease, stroke, and CPR. The awareness leads to funding, and the funding leads to hope to ANYONE with a heart! Can you help us by: thinking of 10 family or friends who love to help and send them a message through your KHC page or app!?

As we enter the new year, have you thought of ways to challenge your family to grow in 2025? We have 2 resources to share with you as you think of goals for your family this year. 1. Consider having your student complete the 2025 Reading Challenge provided by the White County Regional Library system. Paper copies can be picked up at our local library, the new Janett & Larry Crain Memorial Library! 2. Consider having your student spend 1000 hours outside during 2025. Playing outside is a pivotal part of childhood ! Tracking your time spent outside this year can be fun family endeavor! We would love to hear about the ways your family is growing together this year!!
