If your student participated in the October Reading Challenge and has been reading 15 minutes a day this month, then today should be the last reading day!! They can turn in a COMPLETED calendar (with a title in each square) Friday to choose their book! Thanks, Ms. Kim
Join us for Elementary Football Night at Lion Stadium this Friday Night! Students will be bringing passes home this week!
We have loved having our Varsity Dance Team come help with morning drop off this week! We want to remind everyone about the Little Lionsteppers program that will be taking place NEXT WEEK! Participants get to join the Dance Team for a halftime performance at the football game on November 1st!
Westside-Awards Assemblies: With the switch to standards-based grading in K & 1 those grade levels will not be hosting awards assemblies. For grades 2&3, teachers will still recognize students in the classrooms as part of the learning day. Only students and teachers will participate in those celebrations. Thank you!

Ms. Kim wants to thank all the parents and grandparents who read those wish lists and sent students with money to buy from the fair to support our school library. We also wanted to thank those that stopped by Family Night Thursday to shop during conferences! We sold over $13,600 worth of books (and diaries, chocolate calculators, hand pointers, scented highlighters, glitter pens, LOL) in one week!! The Fair is packed up and regular library classes resume tomorrow so find that library book you checked out!! 😀
Mark your calendars for November 22 at Westside Elementary School!
Purchases are being made during library class Oct. 10-16! Don't forget to put cash or check (made payable to Westside) in a ziploc bag... OR visit our book fair site to set up an ewallet! Students who are absent will be allowed to shop on Thurs, Oct. 17th during activity OR they can shop with parents that night at PT Conferences from 3:30-6:30.
