The work our CTE Leadership Team has done—and continues to do—is nothing short of EXCITING! Together, we’re preparing students for success with these bold goals: 1️⃣ By May 2025, 100% of SPS students in grades 7-12 will know about our amazing CTE pathways through career fairs, presentations, and more! 🌟 2️⃣ By May 2025, the SPS CTE Readiness Plan and career pathway information will be accessible to all stakeholders through digital hubs, events, and print resources. 3️⃣ By the end of the 2025-2026 school year, 50% of CTE completers will graduate with merit—equipped with certifications, internships, and career-ready skills. This team is paving the way for a brighter future for our students and our community. Let’s keep the momentum going! 💪✨ #CTEMonth #WeAreCTE #CTEExcellence #FutureReady #SPSProud#CareerPathways

Goal Progress & Achievements on SPSD CTE Goals
🎉♥️FEBRUARY is CTE MONTH!!!♥️🎉 Big Moves in Career & Technical Education at SPSD! This school year has been full of momentum for Career & Technical Education at Searcy Public Schools! Since January, we’ve been hard at work breaking down the new State Career Readiness Guidelines and taking bold steps to create an SPSD CTE Plan that prepares our students for success beyond the classroom. As part of this process, we took time to analyze our current reality and discuss our desired future for CTE at SPSD. From this activity, we built a strong mission and vision to guide our work: 📌 Mission: We will ensure all students are ready for employment, enlistment, or enrollment. 📌 Vision: Searcy CTE will lead the state in student success. We’re excited about the future and committed to providing students with the skills and opportunities they need to thrive! #CTEMonth #WeAreCTE #FutureRead @searcypublicschools

The 2nd Annual YOU'RE HIRED event is scheduled for March 13-14, 2025. This initiative is designed to connect graduating high school seniors with local businesses in White County and surrounding areas. It provides a unique opportunity for students to interview with employers and explore career opportunities as they transition into the workforce. Last year’s inaugural event was a resounding success! Eight students received job offers during the event, and since then, two more have secured positions with businesses they connected with at the event. One individual, hired on the day of the event, recently received a raise to $20.00 per hour, showcasing the lasting impact and potential growth resulting from this initiative. If you have seniors who would benefit from interviewing with local businesses for post-graduation career opportunities, please encourage them to participate in the event. Students interested in participating can inform Mrs. Holman in the counselor’s office or Mrs. Churchwell in the East Office.
