What is the ATLAS Assessment System?
Beginning in the spring of 2024, the Arkansas Teaching and Learning Assessment System (ATLAS) will serve as the statewide student assessment system and will encompass a range of assessments intended to measure student progress.
How can families/guardians access this system?
Access codes for each student were sent home - if you did not receive them please contact the school office and request your Atlas Parent Portal Access code for your student. This code can be shared with multiple parents/guardians. You can find detailed directions on how to access and viewing results in the document below.
K-3 ATLAS Screener & Testlets
The ATLAS Screener helps to ensure your child is building the essential skills in reading and math. If they're struggling in certain areas, the results help teachers provide the right support to get them back on track. Students in grades K-3 are screened in literacy and K-2 students are screened in math at the beginning of the year. Teachers monitor and provide instruction based on the individual needs of each student.
3-10 ATLAS Summative Assessments
The ATLAS end-of-year summative assessment is used to test all students in grades 3-8 in the content areas of English Language Arts (ELA), mathematics, and science. Students will take end of year exams for ELA in grades 9 and 10 and end of course exams for Algebra I, Geometry, and Biology. All students are required to participate in ATLAS 3-10 summative unless they qualify for an alternate assessment. The first administration of the assessment was administered in Spring 2024.
ELPA Summative
The English Language Proficiency Assessment for the 21st Century (ELPA21) is a test that measures English language proficiency for English Language Learners (ELLs) in Arkansas. The ELPA21 measures proficiency in four language domains: listening, reading, writing, and speaking. Student performance is classified into levels 1–5 for each domain sub-test. The domain profile determines the overall proficiency level.
