Searcy High School Class of 1994 alumnus and author Dargan Ware was recently on campus for his 30th year class reunion. While visiting Searcy High School, he donated signed copies of both his books to the high school library which are entitled Old Soldiers Never Die and The Legend of Colgan Toomey. Ware is a poet, novelist, and consumer protection attorney who lives in Birmingham, Alabama.
Pictured are Searcy High School principal David Landers and media specialist Christy Hart accepting the books from Mrs. Carol Daves on Mr. Ware's behalf.
Searcy School District is so pleased to accept these donated books. Principal Landers said, “It’s wonderful to see former students giving back to their roots. Mr. Ware’s generosity will have a lasting impact on our students, fostering a love for reading and creativity."
This donation not only reflects Mr. Ware’s personal success but also serves as a reminder of the lasting bond between the district and its alumni. We offer our thanks to Mr. Ware and hope he found his return to Searcy High School a memorable experience.
